Rick Seller has been a PGA Golf Professional for over 25 years. A Quincy, IL. Native, Rick played on the University of Missouri golf team which led him to a carrer in professional golf. Early in his professional career, Rick played on the Florida Mini-tours until he began instructing full time.

Over the years, Rick has given literally thousands of golf lessons to golfers of all abilities, from beginners, to high school and collegiate golfers to PGA and Champions Tour players. In 2004 , Rick was named the Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year, the state’s highest teaching award. He has also been named to Golf Magazines Top Instructors in the Midwest and named by Golf Digest Magazine as on of its Top Instructors in Illinois.

Rick credits his success primarily to the mentoring of four individuals. One of the strongest influences in Rick’s professional career has been his friendship with PGA and Champions Tour winner Peter Jacobsen.

The strongest influence in Rick’s teaching has been Jim Hardy. Jim introduced Rick to the concept and practice of the one plane and two plane golf swings, which Rick integrates into the swings of his students, daily. One of the games most sought after short game instructors Stan Utley, has helped Rick develop his short game instruction program. Lastly, Chuck Hogan, one of the most successful sports performance coaches in golf, helped Rick develop a unique approach and understanding to the game by introducing him to the mental side of sports performance. Together, each of these individuals have helped Rick mold his teaching philosophies into a straight forward easy to understand and implement instructional system.

Rick is also the teacher and coach to PGA and Nationwide Tour player D.A. Points. D.A. credits Rick with, "helping me achieve my dreams of playing on the PGA Tour."

Rick is also very proud of his longtime association with golfers on the University High School Boys & Girls Golf Teams. University High, in Normal, IL has been a dominate force in IHSA Boys & Girls golf since 2000. In 2007 the boys team won their 5th consecutive IHSA Championship, while the Girls collected their 3rd consecutive title.

Today, Rick works with students from around the country. Rick provides individual, group, and corporate golf instruction programs and is also a frequent guest speaker for many professional and civic organizations.

Rick not only teaches at The Links Bloomington, IL, but he also splits his time during the winter months the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, AZ.
